Beena Punnamoottil

Beena Punnamoottil completed her PhD in 2008 in Oldenburg in the field of neuro- and developmental genetics. As part of her PhD she spent 2 years at the Sars International Center for Marine Molecular Biology in Bergen, Norway. Afterwards she moved to Sydney, Australia, as postdoctoral researcher for a year at the Brain and Mind Research Center. After her return to Germany, she started as a project manager at a contract research organization, Chimera Biotec GmbH, in Bremen in 2010. Within the following 10 years she gained professional experience as Sen. Project Manager, Director of Business Development and Chief Executive Officer at the very same company. In 2020 she returned to the University of Oldenburg (UOL) as research officer for medical research. Since 2022 she is, in addition to her position at the UOL, actively involved in pharmaceutical cancer research as VP for Global Proteomics at the contract research organization Assay Engineers GmbH.
